Blue Cord Media / Daniel Sanchez Racing – The #463 team was back at Limaland Motorsports Park last Friday night. The new home for Sanchez and his crew has been great for the young driver although Friday night was an uphill battle. A number 40 pill draw started Sanchez in the back of his heat and a spin to avoid a wreck made it even more challenging. The #463 finished 4th in the heat.
Sanchez rolled off 11th in the feature where things got interesting quickly. The middle of the pack went into the turn 5 wide shuffling everyone as they bottled up. Sanchez found himself fighting from the 15th spot but was able to wheel his way into 6th by the time the checkers dropped.
Saturday night the team hauled the car into Indiana to race at Montpelier Motor Speedway. Racing so far from home, against new cars, is a daunting experience. Thankfully Sanchez has plenty of friends who are always willing to lend a hand. Tony Anderson and Frank Paladino were a tremendous help in getting the set up close at Montpelier.
“The crew worked their tails off to make a lot of changes to the car along with getting an electrical issue fixed. I really have to thank those guys for all that hustle.” – Daniel Sanchez
The team was back on the track for the feature, starting 11th. When the checkers dropped the 463 was in 4th, impressive for their first time at the track.
Sanchez is currently competing in the Midwest as he attends classes at UNOH. While his schedule is hectic, he wouldn’t have it any other way. “All my days are very busy. Having the racecar here and being able to work on it and race is a good stress reliever.” Sanchez said.
The team had some work to do to prepare for racing in the Midwest. “We had to do a lot of homework to get our northeast pro-stock to keep up with the mid-west stock cars.”
Sanchez has had help from those back home and several people he’s met from school and racing around Ohio. Although Sanchez does miss racing in New York, he stays up to date with those still racing here, especially at Lebanon Valley Speedway. “It’s funny, I’ll be at the track Friday or Saturday nights looking on Facebook for the results of how our friends back home are doing.”
The 463 Team will be back at Limaland Motorsports Park Friday 6/9.
